Current Herdsires
At Turnbull Charolais, we recognize that the genetics you get out of your herd, all starts with genetics you put into it. No matter how much we spend on a new bull, if he makes it to spring and he just isn't what we were hoping for, we are not afraid to hold him back.

Please meet our active herdsires:
Steppler Magnum 99G

Magnum is a Heifer Bull we Bought from Steppler Charolais, Miami MB in 2020. He has been nothing short of reliable for us and we still use him on our heifers today! Magnum is a bull that will produce calves that are born smooth and are up standing in short order. He is a calving ease bull that still produces numbers good enough for his sons to be leaders in the bull sale.
Sparrow's Lampman 301L

Lampman is our other active Heifer Bull. We bought him from Sparrow Farms in 2024 and put him to work straight away. He had no trouble breeding as a yearling and with a birth weight of 66lbs, we have had no trouble at all with his calves coming out naturally. A true, true heifer bull out of the LT Rushmore 8060 from Lindskov-Thiel Charolais in South Dakota.
Keys Dude 223J

We purchased Dude all the way from North Dakota from Effertz Key Ranch. He adds depth and length to his progeny with his smooth back and deep shape. The sons from him that we have seen so far carry the same frame and gentle temperament that he has.
Cedarlea Yellowstone 184H
_HEIC.png)
This bull has really started to make a name for himself in the Turnbull Charolais herd. An SOS Apex PLD 139F son who brings out the best in any cow. Yellowstone sons are earning a reputation in our bull pen as well-shaped performance bulls. His feet are arguably perfect and get passed down to his offspring. Everyone who comes to the bull sale has the Yellowstone calves amongst their favorites.
Sparrows Default 255K

Default is a bull that will produce large numbers in his calves at yearling weights. He is in the top 4% for Milk and his mother is in the top 3%. His progeny all carry this characteristic with them as Default has produced females for any purpose. They are super maternal and could easily be replacement heifers, or if your program sees fit, will push numbers on the scale in the fall. Not only do his calves take the same long, deep shape as him, they also take his coat of hair. Default adds hair to any of his offspring.
Hopewell Mahomes 15L

We bought Mahomes in the spring of 2024 from Hopewell Charolais in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. He is a hairy, heavy-ribbed, wide bull, whose numbers do all the talking. Mahomes is in the top 3% for weaning weight, top 5% for yearling weight, and top 20% for milk. We are excited to see the impact this bull has in our herd.
C2 Kong 120K

Kong is a bull that is sure to turn pounds to dollars come the fall, being in the top 1% for scrotal, he breeds like a well-oiled machine. He was shown in Manitoba by C2 back in 2022, where they won reserve champion Charolais bull. Kong is an absolute unit and sits in the top 3% for weaning weights and top 2% for yearling weights.
HC Jagermeister 160J

Jagermeister is a long, tidy footed, smooth-made bull that we bought from Hunter Charolais in 2022. When we saw this bull, we knew that his LT Ransom genetics would be a great fit for our program. Originally, we used Jager as a heifer bull as he carries no shortage of calving ease.
